EXPLAIN YOUR PROFESSIONAL CAREER
"I have started as a mother from home, working for small brands across the globe. Small businesses that I carried in my heart.
People, often women, who made things by hand, who could use a little bit of support.
Photography has always been a big love for me and I was happy to support small honest brands a little where I could. I did this for a few years, when it came to my heart that so many talented people didn’t really have a platform or visibility.
When I got offered the chance of having a physical space, I realized this could be the perfect opportunity to bring a few talented ‘makers’ together in a visual space. My ideal was top create a calm setup with some of their products for people to come see, touch and experience.
And that’s what happened.
In the meantime my dream business grew into what it is today. I had to move my shop. Some people stayed with me, some left, as life goes.
But the dreams and ideals are still very much the same. Sharing handmade treasures with my audience."

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
"My inspiration comes mostly from ordinary daily life. To find meaningful and interesting things in the normal days is something I have learned from my father and I carry deeply within me.
My father, and his mother too, learned me to see things. Things so little and seemingly insignificant but if you look at them more closely, they are true little wonders.
‘Ordinary days’, wherever, whoever with, will always be a source of inspiration for me. Next to that my grandmother had her own shop and was super talented in making clothes with great attention and love for detail. She could make anything I (and other people) asked for.
She was my big source of inspiration to open my own shop.
Flowers have been a world of wonder for me from a very young age. My photography is often inspired by certain shapes and colours of flowers. Even my candle colours are :) Wildflowers will always be a favouite, but I love many others too like the thistle, eucalyptus, ranunculus, baby’s breath, sunflowers… I could go in for a bit.
I firstly use flowers in my photography, after that I try to dry them and hang them as shops decoration, and when the time is there I hand them out t my dear customers."

WHAT ARE YOUR FUTUR PROJECTS?
"I will stay here for another 3 years, which makes me more serious about my space.
What I will try to do is in general making it a little bit more organized and tidy, but also more focussed.
Next to that I am hoping to share the space more with other people. Likeminded brands that can potentially rent the space for a bit time.
Workshops/ exhibitions, more pop-ups, it’s all possible here and I will continue to love bringing people together so people can connect.
That will be my main focus for the coming year I guess.."

WHAT'S YOUR MANTRA?
"I guess it’s I walk my path alone, whilst listening to my heart, knowing I am never lonely."
